Broccoli, butternut squash, cereal and apples....enough said.
Surrounded by boys.....and Ms.B
Welcome to my blog. I've called it 'A House of Hawes' as I am completely surrounded by Hawes' people, a scary (albeit fun) thought at times. Even the dogs have that last name registered. We've decided to go the blog route instead of our website so we can keep things updated easier as the 'Will and Nate' story continues....what a story it's turning out to be!

Post-Thanksgiving week
We had a nice week hanging out at home. The weather has turned very 'fall-ish' after a beautifully warm start to October, so we've had to break out the warmer coats. Here's a few pics from our week.

An attempt at a photoshoot........
I was taking the boys out for a walk on a cool fall Calgary evening. They needed a sweater to wear so I grabbed the sweaters that Nanny (Dave's mom) just finished knitting for them. We then thought we better take a picture to show Brenda. Trying to get two babies to sit up straight side-by-side, and smile is a rather impossible task...

Playtime
A couple of videos of the boys hanging out around the house this past week.....you can see our house isn't very quiet these days! The first video is of Nate flirting with his girlfriend 'Sophie the giraffe'. The second is of the boys during their 'jumping time'. Enjoy!

My GQ Boys
Our afternoon playtime session started with both boys fully clothed and ended with both of them just wearing diapers - I'll spare you all the details. Needless to say, Will and Nate had a lot more fun once they ditched the clothes....

Big Boy Highchairs......
The boys are now big enough to enjoy hanging out in their highchairs. Of course, the highchairs make for good mealtimes but they also make for a good 'play space' for a few minutes when Dave or I need to get some stuff done in the kitchen (ie making the gourmet dinner of peanut butter sandwiches we've become so familiar with since March :) )

Laundry!!!
I was trying to get some laundry done (a critical function in our house). Nate was fussing and didn't want to sit anywhere. So, I decided to plop him in the laundry basket where he was quite content to 'help' which really meant pulling everything out of the basket.
A little bit of history
I guess that 6.5 months doesn't really define history but it has been a very 'historic' 6.5 months in our house. It's hard to believe that only a year ago we had just found out that 'twins' were en route. Little did we know what we were in for.
Here's a trip down memory lane....
