Surrounded by boys.....and Ms.B

Welcome to my blog. I've called it 'A House of Hawes' as I am completely surrounded by Hawes' people, a scary (albeit fun) thought at times. Even the dogs have that last name registered. We've decided to go the blog route instead of our website so we can keep things updated easier as the 'Will and Nate' story continues....what a story it's turning out to be!

Does this hat make my head look big?

Will thought it was pretty funny to wear his Dad's ball cap. Strangely enough...it almost fit.

A little trip to Banff

We are so lucky to live less than 90 minutes away from one of the most beautiful places on earth - we don't take advantage of being so close to Banff. We decided to head out of town for a couple of days and headed to Banff. The weather couldn't have been better and the mountains couldn't have been any prettier. The only thing that could have made the trip better was if W&N would have actually participated in sleeping in the hotel - why sleep when you can talk to a ceiling fan all night? It was a very tiring, sleep deprived trip but it was worth it.

The snowstorm the week before our trip....crazy

Works for me....good for you?

Nate & Daddy - note the crayons, the waiter clearly thought our children were advanced for their age. They ate the crayons.

Me and Mr. Blue eyed Will - notice his head is as big as mine.....

Our neighbours - the Elk were everywhere this trip

Bow Falls - so pretty, even in winter

Nate's face says it all - 'this lunch sucks Mom'

Ready to go swimming (not sure what happened to Dave here). You'll note Nate was already trying to escape the pool before he was in it

Will gave the pool a test run

Will again.....as I took this, baby claws were digging in to my back as Nate was clinging on for dear life from the side of the pool. He went in for about 20 seconds - he pretty much managed to wrap his little legs around my neck to avoid them going in the water. The bath is much more his style.

Naughty Nate

I should have learned by now that silence=trouble. Will was keeping a close eye on me while I was making the boys' supper. I suddenly realized that Nate had been silent for a few minutes...hmmmm, that never happens. I went in to the living room and he was nowhere to be found and didn't make a noise when I called him. I found him hiding under a table and he had managed to get hold of a yogurt container that should have been out of reach. He pretty much licked clean what was left.....you can see the after effects, yogurt was everywhere.

You are so busted Nate!

Leave me alone Mom, I'm busy

It tastes way better without a spoon!

Very proud of himself

Clowning around at home

We've had a cold and snowy March and April is starting off the same - needless to say we've hung out at home a lot.

Eating the diaper box....you can see a missing corner if you look closely
